  • Pathology Interests: Forensic Pathology
  • Interests Outside of Pathology: Animals! I volunteered at a big cat sanctuary for 4 years in Kansas (taking care of tiger, lions, leopards, etc.), I love zoos (Albuquerque has a great zoo), and I have cats (domestic, just to be clear) and a dog. I volunteer at Albuquerque Animal Welfare walking dogs and fostering cats, and I help socialize and care for cats at Animal Humane New Mexico. I also enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, spending time with my husband, family, and friends, and reading. I enjoy museums, especially of the science, history, and natural history variety. I also enjoy naps.

Why I enjoy the pathology program at UNM

I was initially drawn to UNM's program because of their outstanding reputation for Forensic Pathology. When I came for my interview however, I also fell in love with the city of Albuquerque, and met the most wonderful group of residents. One of my favorite things about this program is how supportive all of the residents are of each other. The faculty are also very approachable and supportive. The environment at UNM makes learning enjoyable, and I am so thankful to be a part of this program.
