OMI faculty recognized for outstanding work

Several of our faculty in the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) were recently recognized for their outstanding work. Chief Medical Investigator Kurt Nolte, M.D., Medical Investigator Hannah Kastenbaum, M.D., and Forensic Pathologist Karen Cline-Parhamovich, M.D. have helped the OMI emerge as an integral partner in the HOPE Initiative, working closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Office to create a real-time surveillance model for all drug-related deaths. Additionally, Dr. Nolte will receive the Eye Bank Association of America’s 2017 Gift of Sight Award at their annual conference in Salt Lake City, UT, on June 16, 2017. The Gift of Sight Award is presented to professionals who have demonstrated significant support of eye banking and corneal donation.
